More than just friends and family.

When it comes to wedding planning, the bride and groom are not the only ones with responsibilities. The bridal party also has a significant role to play in making the wedding day a success. In this blog post, we will discuss the responsibilities of the bridal party and how they can contribute to the wedding day.

Maid of Honor:

The Maid of Honor is the bride's right-hand woman. She is responsible for organizing the bridal shower and bachelorette party, helping the bride with wedding planning, holding the bride's bouquet during the ceremony, being there for her no matter what she needs and signing the marriage license as a witness. The Maid/Matron of Honor should also be available to the bride throughout the day to help with any last-minute needs, if that requires holding her dress while she uses the washroom, so be it!

Bridesmaids:

Bridesmaids are responsible for making sure that the Maid of Honor is not overwhelmed with planning the bridal shower and bachelorette party alone. They should also assist the bride with anything she needs help with leading up to the wedding day. If that's doing a coffee run on the morning of the wedding, it needs to be done. On the wedding day, they will help the bride get ready, make sure she doesn't miss cocktail hour and assist with making sure the reception runs smoothly. They are her support team to build her up to feel on top of the world.

Best Man:

The Best Man is the groom's right-hand man. He is responsible for organizing the bachelor party, helping the groom with wedding planning, holding the rings during the ceremony, and signing the marriage license as a witness. The Best Man should also be available to the groom throughout the day to help with any last-minute needs. If something needs to get done during the day he is your guy.

Groomsmen:

Groomsmen... groomsmen... groomsmen.. where do we start with you. They are responsible for helping the Best Man with the bachelor party, ideally helping along but inevitably just causing more mischief. They should also assist the groom with anything and everything he would need help with leading up to the wedding day, that includes grabbing dry cleaning, shining the shoes and making sure everyone else in the party shows up on time. On the wedding day, they will help the groom get ready, assist with the reception and in some cases are the ushers for the ceremony

Flower Girl/Ring Bearer:

The Flower Girl and Ring Bearer are responsible for putting on their biggest smiles and walking down the aisle before the bride and groom and carrying flowers or the rings. They should be dressed appropriately and on their best behavior, and if and only if they bring their flowers and rings to the front of the alter they should rewarded with the sweetest of treats.

Ushers:

Ushers are responsible for escorting guests to their seats before the ceremony. They should be dressed appropriately and friendly to guests. In most cases the groomsman fill the role as ushers.

The bridal party has a crucial role to play in making the wedding day a success. From organizing pre-wedding festivities to assisting with wedding planning and helping the bride and groom on the big day. It's essential to ensure that the bridal party understands their responsibilities and is prepared to carry them out. By working together, the bridal party are aiming to create a memorable wedding day for the bride and groom with as little stress possible.
